Our explanation: "Only in Dreams", which just happens to be my favorite all-time song by anybody, is a song penned by Rivers Cuomo for Weezer's "The Blue Album" in 1994. It is currently the longest song by Weezer. In this song, Rivers Cuomo sings about a dream he's having about a girl that he wishes to be with. He's describing how he doesn't want to mess it up with her in his dream because of this unavoidable love he has for this girl.
In 2002 Rivers began posting on the Rivers Correspondence Board under the name "ace" in which he interacted with fans. Rivers expressed extreme dislike for his song. He claims that his brother was embarrassed by the song, that he stole the bassline from another song and that he only put it on the album because they needed another song and that they didn't have anymore songs. This doesn't make sense because Rivers had over 100 songs before the making of the Blue Album. Rivers even went so far as calling the song "GAY GAY GAY DISNEY GAY!!!"
Rivers current opinion of the song is unknown. But possibly has changed considering he used to be ashamed of Pinkerton. But now has added Pinkerton songs back into their concerts.
