"Caught Up" lyrics:
I'm the kind of brotha
Who been doin' it my way
Gettin' my bread for years
In my career
And every lover
In and out my life
I hear love and left the tears
Without a care
Until I met this girl who turned the tables around
She caught me by surprise
I never thought I'd be the one breaking down
I cant figure it out why

Usher says that he is the kind of African-American man who has done it his way his entire career. He seems to have developed an irritation at those significant others who entered his life and then left him without regard to his feelings. He finally met some girl that made him happy. Subsequently, he is experiencing emotion that he never thought that he would.

I'm so
Caught up
Got me feelin' it
Caught up
I don't know what it is
But it seems shes got me twisted
I'm so
Caught up
Got me feelin' it
Caught up
I'm losin' control
This girls got a hold on me

Usher is developing serious feelings for this lady...

Let me go baby
Now listen
My momma told me
Be careful who you do cuz karma comes back around
Same ol' song
But I was so sure
That it wouldnt happen to me
Cuz I know how to put it down
But I was so wrong
This girl was mean
She really turned me out
Her body was so tight
I'm lookin' for her in the daytime with a flashlight
My homies say this girl is crampin' my style
And I can't figure it out but

Here, Usher is faced with a Fork of all forks in his road. More than likely talking to himself, he is trying to decide whether to break up with the lass (because his mother told him to always be careful about whom he fornicates with) or to keep her. Another factor is that his friends are telling him that the girl is becoming so attached to Usher that it is "crampin’ his style" (basically, making him love her so that he is not free to go out and experience intercourse with random girls)...

My explanation for "lookin' for her in the daytime with a flashlight" is that Usher had to go to the bathroom really bad, but wanted this part of the song to be finished, so he just thought of something that rhymed...

I'm so
Caught up
Got me feelin' it
Caught up
I don't know what it is
But it seems shes got me twisted
I'm so
Caught up
Got me feelin' it
Caught up
I'm losin' control
This girls got a hold
I'm so
Caught up
Really feelin' it
Caught up
I don't know what it is
But it seems shes got me twisted
I'm so
Caught up
Really feelin' it
Caught up
I'm losin' control
This girls got a hold on me

And I think I like it baby
Oh nooo, oh no
Ooh, yeaah, oh my

Here is where Usher begins to lean towards the thesis that he does indeed want to remain with this female.

This girl was mean
She really turned me out
Yeah, yeah, yeah, suga
My homies say this girl is crampin' my style
I'm so
Caught up
Caught up
Don't know what it is
But it seems shes got me twisted
I'm so
Caught up
Really feelin' it
Caught up
I'm losin' control
This girls got a hold
I'm so
Caught up
Im so
Caught up
I don't know what it is
But it seems shes got me twisted
I'm
Caught up
Really feelin' it
Caught up
I'm losin' control
This girls got a hold on me

We as the listeners have to assume that this relationship continued on in happiness...
